Dr. Shea Stark
Dr. Shea Stark graduated from Texas Chiropractic College (TCC) in 2014. During her time at TCC, she was involved in multiple chiropractic associations including the Student American Chiropractic Association (SACA) and the American Chiropractic Association Sports Council (ACASC). With SACA, she travelled to Washington, DC three consecutive years for the National Chiropractic Legislative Conference (now known as ENGAGE) to lobby on Capitol Hill on behalf of the chiropractic profession. She helped create a chapter of the SACA Sports Council at TCC where she was President for two years. She also served two years on the National Student Executive Committee of the ACA Sports Council as Secretary and 2nd Vice President.
Upon graduation, Dr. Stark moved to Bozeman, MT for associateship at Pro Chiropractic. While working at Pro Chiropractic, she worked many sporting events including 10K races, marathons, trail runs, lacrosse, basketball, football and volleyball. She served as the team chiropractor for the Manhattan High School volleyball team for two years. She also pursued multiple post-graduate certifications including Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner (CCSP), International Certificate in Sports Chiropractic (ICSC) and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to aid in her work with athletes.
Dr. Stark was appointed to the National Executive Board of the ACASC as Secretary in 2015. Since that time, she has served as 2nd Vice President, 1st Vice President, President and now as Past President. She was also selected as the North American Representative for the International Federation of Sports Chiropractic (FICS) in 2021. She currently sits on the Medical Commission for USA Cheer and is President of Texas Sports Chiropractors.
Her passion continues to be treating athletes, especially at sporting events. She has worked many large scale events including The World Games, WAKO Kickboxing World Championships, ITTF Table Tennis World Championships, AVP Seattle beach volleyball, P1440 FIVB Las Vegas Open beach volleyball, the National Collegiate Tae Kwondo Championships and Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. She also completed a volunteer rotation at the US Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Lake Placid, NY.
In 2020, Dr. Stark returned to her hometown of Houston, TX to start her own practice called Stark Chiropractic and Sports. Dr. Stark incorporates KT Tape regularly in her practice. It works wonders for sports injuries and patients love the support it gives. Proper KT Tape application can decrease healing time while increasing movement and function allowing people to return to activities with little to no pain.
