On The Road With KT Tape
JANUARY 05, 2010
On the Road with KT Tape from John MacKay, President of Lumos, Inc.The KT Tape team has been to a lot of races this year spreading the word about, and we've met a lot of great people out there. I love it when we're able to help an athlete solve a problem and stay in the race. There's nothing quite as depressing as a last-minute injury that threatens to keep you out of an event that you've been training for. Brian Ditty from Second Sole Racing is one of those people. He was having hamstring trouble the night before the Cleveland Marathon. Brian had planned on running the half-marathon, but things weren't looking good: "The race was Sunday, and Saturday night, I wasn't sure I'd be able to finish. I'd been on my feet for three days working the marathon expo on concrete floors in a new pair of shoes that were the wrong size. I'd also just run the Cincinnati Half-marathon two weeks before, so I was still recovering from that. My feet were killing me and my hamstrings were so tight. They felt horrible. I ran into John (MacKay) from KT Tape at the expo, and he taped up my hamstrings. The tape was really comfortable. I hardly knew it was there. I woke up the next morning feeling great. I ran the half-marathon in 1:27, which is a pretty good time for me, especially when you consider that I didn't think I'd be able to get through the race at all the night before. The tape stayed on great, through the race and beyond. I left the tape on for a full five days, and I really think it helped my recovery as well. I go to race expos all the time because of my job with Second Sole Racing. I've seen a lot of things designed to help with these kinds of problems and injuries. KT Tape is a great product." Thanks Brian! We hope to see you out on the road again soon. John MacKay President, Lumos Inc.
