ALC Cyclists Raise Record $13 Million in Ride from Los Angeles to San Francisco
JULY 05, 2011
Congratulations to the AIDS Lifecycle riders and roadies who raised a record $13 million dollars and for completing the bicycle ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles in 7 days! You guys made it happen!
KT Tape was a proud sponsor of the Sports Medicine staff for the event, and the riders were greatly thankful for the free care by the Sports Medicine staff that followed them along the way. The staff was comprised of athletic trainers, massage therapists, doctors of chiropractic, and physical therapists.
The Department of Sports Medicine from Southern California University of Health Sciences had 4 sports medicine resident chiropractors and 21 interns. Along with the Sports Medicine team, they provided care from 4:30am-8:30am and from 2pm-9:30pm every day.
The team used KT Tape to treat the riders with conditions such as quad/hamstring strains, iliotibial band syndrome, patellofemoral pain syndrome, achilles tendonitis, shin splints, and low back, neck, wrist, shoulder pain, and also to provide postural support.
The riders could not have made it through without the support of the team and the supply of KT Tape. A big thanks goes out to everyone who participated for their strong support!
