For those of us who already active it’s easy to get out and run three to five miles a day without even batting an eyelash but for many that kind of activity is just a fantasy.

Tracksters all over the country are running into similar problems with that oh so painful malady of the flesh: shin splints. High jumpers are struggling with their plant foot. Hurdlers are wincing upon landing. Just when the milers and two milers thought they had their shins under control, the pain breaks through the endorphin cloud to remind the athlete of their mortality.

Yoga works on many different levels, both physical and psychological; and the deeper, lasting benefits are more noticeable over time and a regular practice. But even just one hot yoga session will leave you feeling relaxed, energized, and renewed; and will fill you with a wonderful sense of accomplishment.

When you exercise, you are beginning the process of endorphin production. A common example of this is known as the “runner’s high,” which is a feeling of exhilaration runners sometimes experience. Endorphins block the transmission of pain signals.

The health benefits of dancesport are impressive and according to Dr.Velazquez, a writer for ehow.com, “ballroom dancing is known to raise heart rate, burn calories, and tone every muscle in the body. People who share time, laughter, and thoughts together are more likely to have lower rates of illness and even death. By losing weight, eating healthy foods, and increasing activity people can live a healthier life.”

We just returned from the Arnold Sports Festival. This event attracts approximately 170,000 people, making it the largest multi-sport festival in the nation. We had fun taping up the MMA fighters! And KT Tape athlete Mike Bridges was there signing autographs and answering questions.
